Leggings for all!

At Whimsy, we love leggings!! Whether you're using them for a cozy cute outfit, or to dress up your favorite tunic, we have you covered!

For starters we have the most popular look. This is great for moms on the run, lazy Sundays, and any other casual outing you may have.

Wear your favorite printed leggings with a long tunic tee. Make sure the top covers your tush, and you're good to go! For days out and about, layer up with boot socks, boots, a fun jacket, and scarf. Effortlessly cute and comfortable outfit!

Leggings can be dressed up as well. Wear this sequined pair for a night on the town or even that great holiday party you have coming up.

Heres some different looks. Because the sequins are a statement, wear them with a flowy blouse, solid sweater, or fitted top. Ankle booties are a cute combination to dress them down, or wear with your favorite pointed heels to keep them dressy!

In addition to the leggings, there are also jeggings. These are more of a pant style with pockets and don't necessarily have to be worn with a long shirt.

Jeggings are very versatile. I like to wear looser items on top to balance out the fitted look of the jeggins. Pair them with your favorite winter chunky sweater, a flowy blouse, a tee and jacket, or a cardigan.

We have many many different styles of leggings and jeggins in store. Any of our Whimsy gals are happy to help you find the perfect outfit to wear with them!

Boot Socks

Who doesnt love a cozy pair of socks?? Well lucky for us gals who strive to be fashionable, and comfortable, these boot socks are a top fall trend this year.

There are a lot of different ways to wear them. One way is with a fun short skirt or dress. I love this look because it allows us to extend our summer wardrobe a little bit longer. Add a chunky sweater or jacket to complete the look. Something fun to try is adding a pair of tights (printed or solid) underneath the socks. Have fun with the layers!

Of course the easiest way to wear them is with denim. Throw on your favorite pair of skinny jeans and a sweater for this cute every day look. This is perfect for a day of school, running errands, or a lunch with friends. Add a scarf for a fun additional accessory.

If you want to add this great trend to
your wardrobe give us a call!
We have them in black, ivory, oxblood, and tan.

Cowgirl Chic!

Why We Love It

Designers have warmly embraced “country” again—not Western bolo ties, chaps, but  stripes, patterns, beautiful prints and colors. Add some fantastic Whimsy Cowgirl boots and you have Cowgirl chic!

These styles are geared for the great outdoors where it really does get cold. But that doesn't mean the silhouttes won't work on a city street—quite the contrary! This twist is the way to add that unexpected punch to any outfit.

How to Wear It
Summer is full of variety when it comes to skirt lengths. Boots will work with short to long! Play with color and length.
Say yes to beautiful cowboy boots. Try a hat!

If you look at many top fashion magazines, or celebrities, you'll see that a touch of country cowgirl chic is a great addition to almost every outfit. (see below from Elle magazine)

At Whimsy we carry several styles of clothing but one fun twist is our Cowgirl Chic!
So how do you add a touch of country without taking it too far? Add popular country prints such as florals and stripes...

Add a pop of country colors.. Red or Turquoise work great!

You can add cowboy boots to any length of skirt and it will work fantastically!

A touch of leather and lace always are chic! What a beautiful fun unexpected combination!

At Whimsy we love adding a beautiful layering piece to your outfit.
Here we used a fun printed poncho to add that Cowgirl Chic.

Try a unique printed dress or top. Paired with ankle boots you will have
an absolutely chic outfit!
At Whimsy we always carry amazing cowboy boots, hats, turquoise jewelry, etc.
to help you put together that special Cowgirl Chic outfit you are wanting!

Denim that Flatters Your Shape

We all want to wear denim that makes us look fantastic right?
But there are so many different body types and types of denim
that it can easily get confusing on what type of denim will
be best suited for your body.
Whimsy carries denim that is well known for being flattering
for almost every body type.  Here are some tips to think of when
purchasing denim.

Find Your Most Flattering Jeans

If You're Curvy

LOOK FOR…
Styles with at least a bit of stretch and straight or flared legs. You might have to fit your hips and behind, then have a tailor take in the waist.
AVOID…
Super-low-cut styles that will sit mid-hip and skinny jeans that are too tight on the bottom half of your legs.
DON'T FORGET…
• For tighter styles, try going a size up and tailoring them.
• Dark washes are most slimming.
• Opt for minimal hip details, avoid pocket embroidery.

If You're Short

LOOK FOR…
A classic style that doesn’t overwhelm your small frame and one with a natural waist.
AVOID…
Wide-leg jeans and low rises.
DON'T FORGET…
• Wear legs slightly long, and pair your jeans with heels.
• Darker rinses can have an elongating look.
• Skinny styles should also be long, not cropped.

If You Have A Straight Figure

LOOK FOR…Low-rise, straight-leg styles with a fitted behind.

AVOID… Flares cut for curvier shapes.

• You can get away with bigger, more detailed belts.

• Tuck in your shirt to add shape.
• Skinny jeans can be flattering.

What finishes are best for work?
Old-school, plain, dark-rinse denim looks more polished than other blue finishes, and therefore is more office-appropriate. White denim in a trouser cut can also substitute for pants on casual Fridays.

Can I wear matching denim tops and bottoms?
If they are the same rinse, wash and dye, then steer clear. If the shirt is soft and lightly faded, try contrasting it with a bottom that's structured and dark, such as a pair of skinny black denim trousers

What should I pair with white jeans?
Stretchy white denim ensures an ultra-snug fit, which makes legs appear even longer and leaner. To minimize your rear in white jeans, avoid busy features like elaborate embroidery or pocket flaps. Also steer clear of cropped, too tight tops; instead, pair with billowy blouses that graze the hips—and provide a bit of backside coverage

How should a jean jacket fit?
Great as an unexpected cover-up at night, the most interesting jean jackets are often cropped and body-conscious.  Push up sleeves to show jewelry. Make it your only denim element. We love to pair a denim jacket with one of Whimsy's dresses to take it from a night look to day.

Whimsy carries several lines of denim for jeans and jackets that we know you'll love! Still not sure which is best for your body type? Come in and let us help you personally. We'd be happy to explain what will be the most flattering for you!
